DIY Fluffy Slime

My granddaughter and I love to do crafts together. When she was visiting recently

we made a list of all the crafts we wanted to complete this Summer. There were so many we ran out of paper before we ran out of ideas. Here is one that was at the top of our list.

Fluffy Slime Recipe

Supplies needed:

4 oz white Elmer’s school glue

2 tablespoons of contact solution (make sure

this has sodium borate and boric acid)

1-2 cups of shaving cream

Plastic bowl and spoon

Optional - food coloring, glitter or other add ins

First we measured out 4 oz of glue and poured it into a bowl. Then we added our food color (red and blue) and our glitter and stirred it together.

Next we added 2 tablespoons of contact solution and stirred until mixed.

We measured out about 2 cups of shaving cream and added to the mixture. You can add more shaving cream to make it thicker or less to make it slimier. The shaving cream is what makes this a fluffy slime.

We stirred until it was thick and then used our hands to knead it. The more you work with it the less sticky it becomes. We did add a little more shaving cream at that point.

We did try to make ours purple but didn’t quite get enough good color. But we did have lots of fun with it, making play cookies, meatballs and twisting into pretzel shapes. It’s very soft and squishy and easy to make with a quick cleanup.
