September is an exciting month for many people. School has started, fall will officially begin and cooler temperatures are on the way. Here at the library, we love September as it's National Library Card Sign-up Month. Every year, we reach out to the community and remind everyone of their ability to get a free library card. Simply visit your local library, fill out form and show a valid photo ID with your Georgia address. It's that easy! Everyone who signs up for a library card here at Walnut Grove Library will receive a free book during the month of September. If you wish to apply for a card online, click this link to get started today. Online cards only give access to online content such as Libby and Tutor.com, but they can easily be upgraded to a full library card by visiting any PINES Library. If you decide to get your card at Walnut Grove Library in September, you will also receive a free book.
If you already have a library card then we are asking for your help in spreading the word to the rest of the community. We have referral cards available in the library for you to give to your family, friends and neighbors to let them know of the opportunity to get their own library card. If they decide to get a library card at Walnut Grove Library and show the referral card in the month of September, both you and the person signing-up for a library card will receive a free book. Just be sure to write your name on the back of the card so we know who referred them. Both children and adults are encouraged to give out these cards but this will only be available in September so be sure to act quickly!
