Too Many Cooks by Dana Bate

Kelly Madigan didn't plan on becoming a cookbook ghostwriter. It was simply the right path for her after graduating college. Similarly, she didn't plan on dumping her boyfriend of 6 years and moving to London to write for a famous actress. It is simply the right path for her after her mother dies unexpectedly. Her client, Natasha Spencer, is one of the most glamorous American actresses. Married to a handsome English Politician, adored by her fans and considered a lifestyle guru to many, Natasha believes now is the perfect time to write a cookbook to boost her fame and fortune. Though beautiful on the outside, Natasha is a rude, inconsiderate and selfish person who has no idea of how to write a cookbook. Kelly soon finds herself constantly at fault in the actress's eyes and constantly having to create recipes out of thin air because of Natasha's busy schedule. Her sole comfort is Natasha's husband, Hugh. Kind and a good listener, Kelly begins to spend more time with him and more time wondering if she is falling in love with a married man. Kelly's life soon becomes a whirlwind of kale burgers, banana bread and flirting with her boss's husband. Can Kelly gain control over her own life, or will she change forever in the city of London?

This book is a fun read with interesting characters and great dialogue. Kelly is a lovable character who comes across as innocent and naïve at times, especially in regards to her feeling towards Hugh. One of my favorite things about this book is that the author includes all the recipes talked about in the book. I love the idea of making some of these mouth-watering meals in my own home. This book was a short, delightful read that I would recommend to any fiction lover. This book is available through the PINES system.
