For many people a library means a building filled with books and discovery, but for others it means a bus filled with hope and freedom. Pari is starting her first day as her mother's library helper. She is thrilled to get to travel with Mama and visit with all the girls in the refugee camps and countryside. From singing her ABCs to helping the girls find new books to read, Pari is ecstatic to learn everything her mother teaches her while on the library bus.
This sweet children's book is a wonderful glimpse into the education system in Afghanistan for girls. The story is beautifully written and the vivid illustrations help to further convey the wonders of reading. One thing I love about this book is that it celebrates the women who have bravely fought for access to education for themselves and the next generation of females in Afghanistan. This book is available to order through the Azalea Regional Library System.
