The Atlas of Women Explorers by Riccardo Francaviglia and Margherita Sgarlata

It's time to explore the planet earth and even outer space with these incredible women explorers. This lovely collection of biographies brings to light the many amazing women who traveled and explored incredible locations. Some of these women were modern day explorers while others explored in a time when women seldom traveled alone. The atlas includes a wonderful description of each explorer along with fun facts, a map and delightful illustrations. One thing I adore about this book is that the authors included women who explored on land, sea, and in space, giving the reader a diverse group of explorers to discover. This would be a great fit for kids ages 8-11.
