History vs Women by Anita Sarkeesian & Ebony Adams

Looking for an inspiring and empowering read for your teen? History vs Women is the perfect book! This nonfiction book covers the lives of twenty five women who lived incredible, unique lives that changed the world around them. The two women authors did a fantastic job of gathering accounts of women from across the globe, giving the reader a diverse collection of stories to discover. They also included tales from ancient times as well as modern times, making the collection well rounded. One thing I especially loved about this book was the fact the two authors choose mostly women I had never heard of. Their goal in creating this book was to teach young people about important historical figures who have been overlooked by much of the modern education system. This book would be a wonderful addition to anyone's reading list but it is targeted towards teens grades 7-12. History vs Women is available here at the Walnut Grove Public Library.
