Frontier Follies by Ree Drummond

Updated: Jan 12, 2021

If you are anything like me, I like to watch cooking shows every so often and one of my favorites is Pioneer Woman. When I found out she had written a book of short stories about her life, I knew I had to read it. I love her down to earth style and amazing ranch life. On the show, her life looks like the dream life and everything appears picture perfect. After reading this book, I quickly discovered that ranch life is never simple and Ree Drummond can prove it through just a few quirky and hilarious stories.

She divides the book into sections related to her marriage, motherhood, family, country life and filming the TV show with a few chapters in each. Though she is not a writer by trade, I loved her book and found myself being drawn in from the very first chapter. She writes as though she is talking to a friend, sharing her stories with humor and honesty. I never realized how funny she is until I read this book. If you are looking for a look into the life of a Food Network Star or you just want a fun book that will make you smile, I recommend giving this book a read. You can get this book from the Azalea Regional Library System.
