September is Library Card Sign Up Month

It's September and that means its Library Card Sign Up Month! Even though our building is closed to the public, you can still register online to receive your own PINES library card. Simply go to the Georgia Public Library Service website using this link https://georgialibraries.org/your-library-card/ and scroll down to the middle of the web page until you will see a button on the left hand side that says "Apply for a PINES library card." Click it and fill out the form that appears to get your digital library card today. Once we reopen to the public, you can come inside to receive your physical library card.

What can you do with your digital card? The first thing many patrons use their cards for is reserving books, DVDs and audiobooks online through the PINES catalog. Your digital library card will allow you to take advantage of our curbside pickup appointments and receive your library materials without having to step a foot outside of your car. Your card also allows you to use RBDigital (soon to be Libby, by OverDrive) which allows you to check out ebooks, audiobooks and digital magazines. Your library card also gives you access to other virtual resources such as Tutor.com, Galileo, eRead Kids and LearningExpress Library. For a complete list of our virtual services please visit our web page by following the link http://www.azalealibraries.org/virtual-resources. These services are all free to use for patrons with either a digital or physical library card.
