One of my grandkids favorite things to do is cook with their mom and grandmas. Recently the youngest had a birthday and he requested his very own cookbook which I was happy to provide. There's quite a number of cookbooks for kids and after reviewing a few in the library system, I chose my first cookbook: fun recipes to cook together...with as much mixing, rolling, scrunching, and squishing as possible published by America's Test Kitchen. The title itself sounded interesting and fun. This book is a great resource for kids ages 5-8 . It's very helpful with information on gathering your equipment, preparing the ingredients (prepping and measuring), and kitchen language. The recipes cover chapters ranging from after-school snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sweet treats to holidays and celebrations. It has step by step instructions, great colorful pictures and fun facts. We have had a great time using this book for fun cooking projects and spending time together. This book is available at the Walnut Grove Library for checkout. ~pb
